Protein Powders - What Can Be Manufactured?

Protein Powders - What Can Be Manufactured?Protein powders are one of the most widely consumed nutritional supplements worldwide and can help introduce potential customers to your brand. Whether you are an established supplement line or are looking to start your own, there are many great reasons to invest in your very own protein line. JW Nutritional can manufacture a wide variety of great tasting protein sources to suit many different dietary needs, making us the top choice to manufacture your protein powders.

What Protein Sources Are Available?

Finding the right protein source for your product is highly dependent on the target market that you are trying to reach. For example, if your target market follows the Keto diet, they likely will be looking for a low-carb option that won’t affect their macros drastically. Here are some of the available protein sources and what makes them each so special:

  • Hemp Protein – Hemp protein powder is created from the seed meal of hemp seeds. While it can be useful to vegan athletes, it is typically not a top choice for supplement line owners because it doesn’t provide high concentrations of Lysine and Leucine, two BCAAs. This, unfortunately, makes it an incomplete protein
  • Soy Protein Concentrate – In the past, soy grew in popularity as an isolated protein source derived from dehulled and defatted soybeans. Throughout this process, extra carbohydrates and sugars are removed to extract just the protein. However, many male athletes tend to stay away from soy-based products due to its estrogenic effects.
  • Whey Protein Isolate – Perhaps one of the most popular protein sources, whey protein isolate is incredibly popular because it boasts the lowest carbohydrate counts while also decreasing fat and lactose. This protein source is created as a by-product of the milk making process. Protein isolate is rapidly digested post-workout to promote an anabolic state.
  • Whey Protein Concentrate – A by-product of the cheese manufacturing process, whey protein concentrate is the most commonly used protein source utilized by bodybuilders to promote muscle hypertrophy. For some, consuming protein concentrates may cause stomach discomfort. Typically this is because it goes through less refinement than whey isolate.

While this is just a small sample of the protein sources we are able to utilize during our protein manufacturing process, it gives you a good idea of the versatility that is available. No matter what your needs are, we can help create the perfect formula to meet both your needs and the needs of your customers. If you have any questions or need an alternate protein source than those listed, we would love to hear from you!
